life as it is

one can discover suffering by looking at it
but one can only understand suffering by going through it

so many things have happened this year, especially to people around me, that made me realise that i should really live each day to the fullest and to treat my parents the best that i can. im thankful for the intergenerational project because i still feel the effects of it in me, in the small gestures i do to my parents. i really treasure them a lot and though im not the best daughter, im trying hard.

anyway, school was okay today. finally studied econs during break. :D
class played ultimate frisbee trolololol quite funny. 12a12 is super unique, which is one of things i like about it.(unless it becomes like weird which is like more of a negative connotation oop.)
tsd is a mad rush. basically i have only 3 weeks for my showcase and crit comm yay.
and i still have eom to do. and econs test next week. and im using the computer now.
thats how i roll.

sharing an image of a super cute pig :) hope it makes you guys smile!

can't wait to meet my girls to again. really should start studying this week. 3 weeks to tsd showcase(WAD DE FUCK) and 5 weeks to promos. this is crazy. must. survive. this.
probably can't enjoy my national day holiday ugh...

sometimes i feel as if im living every day just anticipating for the end of the day. it makes me sad when i realise that. i really want to be able to live in the moment and enjoy it. i know something like that cannot be forced because it would only become worse. :<

update on my boring life

defug am i doing this holiday. O_O
I'M LIKE ON THE COMPUTER EVERY SINGLE DAY.
This holiday is at least a fruitful one, at least it feels longgg and I feel that I lived everyday happily (somewhat).
Finished two seasons of Game Of Thrones( that's like 2 full days), watching Glee Project 2.
And playing torrent-ed games-.-
Reading some books toooo.
And my DIY plans failed yay!
Only thing in action(somewhat) is my goal to buy a harp.
But I need to sell my pipa because it's really a waste of space now. And I don't want to leech on my dad's money.
Anyhow, after going to so many people's houses this year, I'm envious of their rooms.
I really really wanna revamp my room but my desk and wardrobe are literally stuck in their positions. :/
And after I watched clothesencounters room tour video, I'm like O______O
SO MANY THINGS I WANNA DO BUT HALF THE TIME IM LEPAKING. even now.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

UGH it's so sian to be going through the stressful o level study regime again! I'm going to grow white hair. After leaving secondary school, it seems that everything is so distant away, which is pretty sad. It was only around 7 months ago we had our class chalet, and 5 months ago we took our o level results together, and now we already have trouble finding time to meet. :< everyone changed a lot too. And it's like within a year wadafuq. 2012 is going to be even crazierrr.

end of intergenerational drama project

Today marks the end of the intergenerational drama project with the elderly. I didn't go to school in the morning cos I was going to go to zhonghua to collect prizeee. Saw several ex-zhonghuarians! :D weeee sad that i didn't manage to talk to all of them! Anyway, fun chatting session with beoz and chloe hahaa.

and ms yeo is so niceeee. i felt so bad cos ive been failing gp like mad and didnt get the scholarship. :<
headed to nex with cait and chloe <3 CAITLIN IS SO SQUISHYYY
then had glacious :) love glacious so muchhh. missed the times we had together in sec 3 and 4. after school, we would just head to nex to lepak. :< now can't liao cos have to bus to vj's nearest mall :<
Anyway, i really feel sad that the intergenerational programme has ended. It was something I looked forward to everyday. When I see the eldery smile, I would smile as well. I've never felt like this before. Genuinely smiling because strangers around you are smiling. Their smiles are definitely infectious! And all of the elderly truly cared for us, often apologising when they think they troubled us(but they had not!) It was a good end to the end of the term. The participants and I are planning to surprise them at the centre one day!!! :)

I THINK I LOOK DAMN CHINA HERE. So apparently this happened during the event.
random aunty: are you from singapore?
me:*prepping for whats to come* why? where do i look like im from?
random aunty: you look like you are from china
me: TT-TT

77th birthday

Haven't updated in a long longg time! School's so busy! I'm working on my critical commentary and it is such a bitch!!! It's like PI, only that you want to vomit out words rather than cut down.

Anyway, had a birthday dinner for my waipo yesterday :)
It was a dinner which masked the unhappy things that happened in our family these few weeks.
Yet some things can never be completely hidden, and some revelations opened my eyes up to a few things.
Sometimes, we tend to harp on the past for relationships. Because past makes present. It might take some time for you to mend your broken relationships with let's say, your friend. However, harping on it in the present would not do anything to help the relationship, but instead, harm it. In the past, there might be some people who did not treat you as well, and you still hold on to that fact today. However, isn't it better if you take the opportunity and start treating them well right now? At least you know you formed a "new" relationship with that someone and you have gotten over the previous phase. You won't have any regrets thus far. These people can include your family even. Maybe you have "Hi's and Bye's" relationship with your parents. You can start by taking the initiative. I realised it's a very Asian thing for such relationships. It is filial piety. I remembered Dr Jen telling me that at 17, she moved out of her parent's house. I was shocked. It meant that if I lived in the US, I'll probably have my own apartment now. However, that's the special thing about my relationship with my parents. We live with them, and we are closely knitted. I wasn't close with my waipo before, but i decided to at least talk to her. That's what the intergenerational drama project taught me. Before I treat others' grandparents well, I should treat my own well. Yesterday was definitely a great dinner and it made me more empathetic as well.

Some pictures with my waipo and my mummy. omg my mum is like a photocopy of my waipo.
My mum is attempting to tighten her face so as to smoothen the wrinkles HAHHAA.
